The Coach Mike Invitational
Every November, the Buffalo Sabres Thunder hosts our signature event at LECOM Harborcenter. This tournament is held in memory of our founder and head coach, Michael Steffan, who envisioned a world where hockey is truly for everyone.

What to Expect: Competitive games, visiting teams from across the region, and a celebration of our athletes’ hard work.

Our season is packed with opportunities for our players to travel and compete. We proudly participate in:
Niagara Ice Dogs Hockey Tournament: A highlight for our B and C level players to showcase their skills.
ASHA – Lake Placid Special Hockey Festival: A prestigious season-ending event where our athletes experience the Olympic spirit in Lake Placid.
Local Games & Scrimmages
Throughout the season, we organize friendly scrimmages against local high school and college hockey teams. These games are a vital part of building social skills and fostering inclusion within the Western New York sports community.
